Today we cruised over to Buck Hill from Minneapolis area, it was a pretty easy drive which always makes us stoked to get to hill quick after getting in the van. We pulled into the parking lot and saw some skiers getting their gear on who were stoked to see the van pull in. We chatted with a few kids while in the parking lot, and then got tickets and headed over to the park. We heard that the chairlift was the main way to lap the park but when we were headed to the hill we saw a mini pipe and rail garden both accessible by a super fast rope tow.
We headed straight for the mini pipe due to the rope tow and the fact that it was the first mini pipe we could lap without hitting any other features in between. We had a sick session on the first hit mostly and sometimes did a full lap through the pipe but the first hit was so nice that we just played on that until the sun was going down. Kids were saying that they have never seen anyone boost out of the mini pipe like our crew which was real cool to hear, however there was a snowboarder who was catching as much air as any of us.
We went in to the lodge during the dusk period when the light was super flat to get some food, chill, and sign posters. It was really nice to get a break after the tons of rope tow laps, and get hyped to go ski some rails. We signed helmets and posters and jackets and whatever else the kids wanted. We also sold a few T-shirts to some kids who were real hyped to be able to rep an Inspired Minnesota T-shirt.
We headed back out to the rope tow after eating and chilling and we were hyped to hit up the sick rail garden. We did a few laps off the chairlift to hit the full park as well as many rope town laps just jibbing the rail garden. The rails were fun and people at the top who were just out watching the action were blown away at the smoothness of Henrik and Phil. Paul was pretty sore today so he skid a bit and spent most of his time behind the camera getting some sick shots for the B&E Minnesota!
Once we got tired it was time to move on and end things on a good note. We had a blast here at Buck Hill, and we were more then hyped on the fun half-pipe most of all. Thanks to all the skiers and snowboarders who were hyped on us to shred their local spot and who came to chill with us. Thanks to Jessica at Buck Hill for all your help with tickets and making this stop a great one. Friday evening we will be at Hyland Hills, MN, so come ski with us.
