We made an easy drive from Spirit Mountain to Wild Mountain in great driving weather which got us stoked due to the fact that it was not the normal Minnesota weather with lots of wind and very cold. We pulled into Wild Mountain where we met up with a bunch of friendly folk in the parking lot who some worked for Armada, some worked at local shops, and some were just there to ski with us. We were stoked seeing the park and probably the highest speed rope tow we’ve rode on yet.
We got our stuff on in the parking lot while chatting with all the local Minnesota crew, then got some tickets and hopped on a wild lift to make our way over to the park. This lift was funky, almost like they took a couple of 2 person chairs and welded them together to make it a quad. Always hyped to see unique lifts and what different resorts do to get people to the top of the hill.
When we got to the park everyone was hyped with lots of fun looking features like a big flat up flat tube rail that apparently was brand new, as well as a sweet looking S-Rail and wall ride. Lots of other features were also spread out all over this little rail garden also. On the side of the park there was a big platform of snow for people to watch and also a wood platform with a grill and speakers. Naturally we were quick to plug in the reggae music and get the Inspired vibes going in the park.
We skied until dark was real near, then the crew went in for a break while the light was super flat, but soon enough everyone was back out shredding under the lights. We wish we would have counted laps today, it seemed as if everyone got 2 days worth of skiing in within an evening due to the fast rope tow. Phil was getting wild on the S rail, going as fast as possible through it, Henrik spent a bunch of time playing on the small jump, and B-Paul was loving the flat down rail. All and all everyone was so stoked on Wild with a sweet crew to ski with and lots of laps with loud music. So fun.
Thanks to everyone who helped us with this stop! Thanks to Kyle from Wild Mountain/ Armada, and also thanks to Amy at Wild Mountain. Thank you very much to all the skiers and snowboarders who came out and made laps with us! Such a good night thanks to everyone and the good vibes! Buck Hill on Valentines day! See ya there.
