We rolled into Hyland today stoked and ready to ski. We had the full crew along with Eric Iberg who owns Inspired, and Hyland is Eric’s home hill so we knew today would be a good stop. As the van pulled to a stop a group of kids had seen us pull in and were on their way to the van through the parking lot. They were stoked to see Henrik, Phil and Paul get out of the van saying this is already the best day of their life. We introduced ourselves and headed out to take some fast laps on the rope tow.

We started by a few cruiser laps off the chair lift, and once the legs were warmed up it was go time. At the top of the rope tow a group of skiers all gathered as our crew got to the top. We got a bunch more handshakes in with the kids, and took some pictures. Then started sessioning the park, everyone seemed to take a liking to the long flat rail at the top, as well as a sick down box.

After lots of skiing, chatting, and rope towing we went inside to hang out for a while and get some food. Ended up chilling with a large crew of skiers inside who were all hyped to be in the presence of the Inspired crew. Once the sun was down and the dark was out and the lights were all on we went back out to do some more shredding. Skiing at Hyland is pretty wild due to the highest speed rope tows and small vertical. We were able to do a full lap in under a minute, which is from the top of the rope tow, to the bottom, and then back to the top, which means if you don’t stop you can do 10 laps in just over 9 minutes. We had such a blast lapping so quick, we estimate skiing easily over 100 laps last night.

After all that skiing we were beat and ready to take off the boots so we gathered up all the stoked skiers and went in to sign posters. We had a large group of kids to sign posters for tonight and they were all hyped to be getting posters and all their gear and shirts signed. After getting through the whole line we said bye to everyone for now, but we will be headed back to Hyland on Sunday to session the big air jump.
